A thirty-five-year-old boy in the body of a thirty-five-year-old man who is still looking forward to 36 hours of continuous programming, then "reset" with The Witcher or Hitman, just as enthusiastic about each new console and can't wait for October 21st., the beginning of the Vibe factory festival.
WHO? Boban Blagojevic
WHAT? Electrical Engineer
WHERE? "Thorium Games" Novi Sad
When someone's first childhood memory is related to gaming, it is not surprising, much so, that the plot continues to develop in the direction of growth and development of the creators of some new games.
"I was 5.6 years old; maybe I played Tetris on Commodore 64 so much that I received my first sentence from my parents. That was scary to me. Luckily, we found a compromise, so I was able to continue with Terminator soon. Later SEGA came. But, all in all, I associate my earliest childhood with games, then without the idea that it will be a calling in my life. "
As an electronics student, he worked part-time for others and discovered not only his true love, but also his skills.
"There was no information available then as there is now. Rare books, incomplete topics, few who know and can and want to convey. I sound like an old man who is a hundred years old, but really, you had to invest serious effort and work, and the progress is barely visible. I started enjoying the insanely rapid advancement of technology, aware that I had to be "awake" all the time. The development of technology has led to my personal and professional progress. There was a situation when all your boats sank, you don't see a solution and you don't know where to look for it anymore, so that challenge "drives" you to a solution. An invaluable feeling. I watch the kids today, everything is available to them. They click a couple of times and all or at least most of the solution is there. Only money drives them. The faster and easier it is to get money. They think they know everything and they can. There is no chemistry, no butterflies in the stomach. "
Order, work, discipline
HOW MUCH? Forever
You grow up, you grow, you develop, you respond to imposed or personal challenges and you still rejoice, sincerely rejoice in small things.
Although this view would largely correspond to the description of Boban from the Indian episode of his life episode, it essentially depicts him even today when he is a programmer and "tribal leader" gathered in "Thorium".
"Thorium is a tribe, a family. Everything is agreed, everything is possible, except for meeting deadlines. And it is important to me that each link be responsible and personal, but also bears collective responsibility. That's why everyone must know the whole process - from the moment you imagine the game and save the story, through 2D and 3D modeling, artists, animators, narrators, and then the programming itself. Finally, quality. Thorium has to stand out in terms of quality. That is my mission. Sometimes I wonder what I needed all this for and when I am "attacked" by such a weakness, I solve it with a marathon set of programming; I explain to myself that masochism is a virtue and we move on. I like to be the best. "
Bobby won over the Vibe factory team with a complete lack of basic communication skills, compensated by authentic spontaneity, and especially children's sincere joy while talking about work - programming, block chain and hobby - gaming. At the same time, he was charmed by our naive clumsy determination to make Vibe factory the new No. 1 brand in Novi Sad. The moment when they agreed on analogs with digital ones, and the turning point, decisive for the creation of a kind of pact, was the demystification of gaming as an entertainment and the emphasis on its application in the field of education.
As Bobby said, technology is evolving, advancing, perfecting to frightening proportions. It is important to put it in the service of the useful. And the most useful thing is to put it in the service of educating children and youth - acquiring new knowledge and improving existing ones. Pilot projects of this type have shown excellent results in the US and Scandinavian countries. So, there is nothing to wait for here either. And we can be more creative and of better quality. As someone said, the future has arrived!
