Ambassador of the Serbian cosplay scene with extensive experience in the performing arts and an even wider range of international and intercontinental guest appearances, in short - Borivoje Naumovski Ori.
MOVABLE CREATIVE FACTORIES
Ori Cosplay International also includes Marija Morticia Cosplay, Pixie Padlock and Chimenya (Chi).
“Costume making and empathizing with characters from popular franchises, from books and comics, through series and movies, all the way to anime and video games is actually cosplay. When we say "costume", we mean the whole production - wigs, make-up, making props. Cosplayers are all mobile factories of creativity ", defines Borivoje and adds "and in addition, uncovered by name, socialization, entertainment, discovering other geeks with the same interests and mutual support, cooperation and respect. "
And how it all started for Borivoje, if we exclude the memories of Madonna and Taichi, He-Man, the Lord of the Universe, then the Ninja Turtles, Star Wars and the Green Ranger, which realistically pointed to what we are witnessing today.
"I have known about cosplay for a long time, maybe even somewhere from the very beginning in Serbia. I also knew about some small events in Belgrade, and that was it. Colorful costumes, mostly with anime themes, a world that existed beyond my interest, until I was invited in one occasion to join a girl in tandem costume as Commander Erwin Smith from the popular anime "Attack on Titan". I followed the making of that costume on social media with provocative photos and then one series of my photos found its way to several big news outlets that called me the embodiment of the character. The photos went viral in the cosplay and anime communities and that's when the whole "madness" started. From Asia to the United States, there were roumors about a "professional cosplayer" and it was a question of a timely response as to whether the wave would be ridden or not. Where I am today by status in the community speaks volumes on the subject, and I just started as the right person in the right place at the right time. In the meantime, I have evolved and with the help of the mentioned closest collaborators, I have actually mastered all the aspects that make up a cosplayer. Today, I already work on my own make-up or stylization of wigs, I design costume cuts and prepare and process photos.
I set myself the task of expanding my own giant platform to education, workshops, and the fight for socially vulnerable minorities. I do not think that I am here to give them a voice, but to be an "amplifier" of what they are already teaching us. On that behalf, I give frequent lectures on the protection of children and minors in the media and social networks, LGBTQ + representations in the new generation of multimedia and lead panels such as "How black artists have changed the face of cosplay", while girls are serious about positive participation in the media. People of unconventional looks, unity and support within the community, as well as training young artists in all aspects of cosplay - from makeup and hairstyles, to tricks of photography and media preparation.
Sharing success with your loved ones is the most beautiful thing in the world! ”
"There are no ugly people, just bad Photoshop." If you think about it, the sentence is extremely versatile - it is applicable to all ideas of self-acceptance with all our shortcomings or uniqueness, all the way to developing the skill of self-promotion. We all have our better and worse moments, but as I also like to say, "I will fall, rise, wipe the dust from the crown and move on."
"Vibe Factory Festival is an extremely beautiful starting point for returning to the local scene and promoting talent through creative workshops, education, and for some, perhaps the first contact with the scene. It is a fantastic opportunity for parents of the new generation of cosplayers to learn about their children's hobbies, to support them on stage, and most importantly - to see first hand how smiling their children are - at home. The mixed program itself will enable people from every closed mini ecosystem to experience the beauty of diversity and mutual respect through curiosity. ”
